MADE FOR COLOR
Project Type
EXPERIMENTAL TYPE, CONTEXTUAL NARRATIVE, POSTER DESIGN
This experimental typography project focused on exploring the vibrancy and symbolism of the color green. The series consists of nine typographic posters, each showcasing a word associated with items that are green. From mint toothpaste and green jello to lush grass and the playful nostalgia of Dr. Seuss’ green eggs and ham, green served as both the color and conceptual core, transforming familiar elements into expressive letterforms. Each poster uses materials and objects that connect directly to the word’s meaning, making the color green a multidimensional experience.
CHALLENGE + SOLUTION
The challenge was to create typography that went beyond just color, bringing out the character of each green item through a combination of texture and design. For example, the word “Flavor” was crafted with fresh herbs, embodying the zest and aroma of green ingredients, while “Camouflage” used layers of foliage, speaking to green’s natural ability to blend and conceal. By merging color, texture, and typographic form, each poster created an immersive exploration of green that was as varied as the items it represented, inviting viewers to see the color’s many shades and stories.
